How My Daughter Earns $2,300 Dollars Per Month As An Intern

How My Daughter Earns $2,300 Dollars Per Month As An Intern

Being a mother of teenagers is probably one of the most difficult job anyone could ever have. I almost became a toxic mother when I was really pushing my daughters to work hard and get a high paying job. But what do they know? They are just teenagers. Me as a single mom needed extra help financially and being the bread winner of the family and supporting my three daughters with their education and expenses got really hard for me.

Three Jobs

I have had to work three jobs which was a breaking point for me and my family. I was not able to guide my daughters with their problems like how a mom should do. But I had no alternative, otherwise my daughters and I would not survive it.

Silver lining

I met someone at work, she was quite comfortable in life. We got along a lot and shared our personal struggles. I had been working for a while now with multiple jobs and so I shared that with her. Little did I know she experienced the same as me. Working three jobs just to be well off and give her kids a high quality education.

I guess she saw herself in me and felt bad for me so she actually shared that her daughter was earning $2,300 monthl as a student… I was quite shock because before I started making that I needed to gain a lot of experiences first. She told me that her daughter actually suggested the idea to her so she looked at the pros and cons and especially the return of investment. Yes, she emphasized that there is an investment involve, but it is actually not what you are thinking.. I also thought.. no this is not some kind of scam. She assured me that it was not at all, she actually laughed because it was nothing like that.

The Key To Earning $2,300 / month

She actually sent her daughter to study abroad, being a Malaysian mother this is not something that would cross my mind. I want my daughter near me so I can help her as soon as she needs my help. But she explained to me that how will our children learn to be independent and be prepared with the challenges in life if we don’t let them try to be out there and experience things?

She recommended that studying abroad is not actually that difficult. She handed me a note on how she got her daughter to study abroad from getting an acceptance letter in less than a week and getting her visa accepted in less than 2 weeks!

My friend sent her daughter to the U.K, at first I thought it was going to be expensive. But I was wrong. Studying in the UK is actually reasonable compare to sending my kids to the US to study abroad.

You might be wondering, how do I have the money to send my daughter to study abroad if I work 3 jobs? I have prepared for this moment, I saved up for my daughters higher education incase an opportunity like this will come. It is actually a very convenient process. It’s also very efficient.

How does it work?

My friend asked me to approach a student recruitment agency where they help students for FREE to study abroad. You might question yourself, why not apply directly to the university? Well, because if my daughter applied directly to the university she would not get a response after 3-4 weeks later then wait for the acceptance letter for 2 weeks. So yes, its a long complex process.

With the student recruitment agency, they apply on behalf of the student and they actually have partnerships with universities abroad, that is why they have an exclusive agreement to get acceptance letters for students who apply through them. Plus, getting help from this agency is total for free. You never once make a payment, and the only company you have to pay is the university itself. Therefore, there is no agenda behind helping students, they genuinely just help the students.

So as a loving mother who care about her daughter’s future and want the high return of investment, I went home to surprise her that I would love for her to study abroad to grow as an independent smart lady.

The Steps To Get $2,300 monthly

  1. Apply to a university through a student recruitment agency.
  2. Schedule a call and discuss with them that you want your son or daughter to study abroad, on my case it was the U.K.
  3.  Once you have given a recommendation and if you are lucky, get a scholarship from the student recruitment agency like Eduloco, who gives around $2,700 worth of guaranteed scholarship.
  4. Send your daughters academic documents such as transcripts and diplomas to proceed with the university application.
  5. Once your daughter or son has been accepted then you just pay whatever initial payment the university requires you to make to start with the visa process. For my case I paid $4,000, this is a deposit and also deductible from the tuition fee. This is also refundable incase the visa application gets denied, to know more about the student visa in the uk you may view it here.
  6. Once your daughter or son has been accepted, then you proceed to pay 50% of the remaining tuition fee.
  7. Get your child ready for departure and give them a big hug! They are about to conquer the world. You will miss them but they all have to fly the nest one way or another.
  8. Your child will be able to work 40 hours per week and have the chance to earn $2,300 for her monthly salary in the UK.
Studying abroad in particular will elevate your daughters and sons CVs. It will help them land amazing jobs in the future. My daughter is now one of the branch manager of Mcdonalds and I am so happy that I made that decision and supported her education.

Choosing A University: How To Pick One That Is Right For You

Choosing a university can be a difficult task.

With hundreds of choices available, how do you know to pick one that aligns with your interests and can provide the top-notch student experience you deserve?

Heading off to college or university is an exciting experience that many young adults look forward to after graduating from high school. After all, it is a beginning of a new chapter in your journey as there is a multitude of new people to meet, an array of friendships to be formed, opportunities for personal development to take part in, and new experiences to digest!

Choosing a university that fits your lifestyle is important.

In this article, we’ll show you the steps and aspects of a university that you can consider to pick one that suits your preference. With the right amount of research of these factors, you’ll be able to identify the right institution for yourself in no time.

Organize A Checklist

Compile a list of the schools that you are interested to study at. Having a checklist to refer to will help narrow down your choices and provide a clear objective on the type of institutions you want to apply to.

Here are some factors that you can use in choosing a university for your list:

  • Location
  • Campus Facilities and Amenities
  • Tuition Fees and Financial Aid
  • Programmes and Courses
  • Student Development Activities
  • Student Accommodation
  • Career Services

If you need help, you can check out our guide for a college checklist here on how to make your application an effective one!

 Research The Course Content

Course content is a big factor that influences your decision in choosing a university. Hence, you should probably research on the courses and programmes of each institution first before adding it to your checklist.

First, decide on a course that is relevant to your interests. Later, you can identify the areas that you want to focus on and specialize in when it’s time to pick a major. However, if you are unsure of the direction you want to take, you can choose a course that allows you the flexibility to study different subjects and the freedom to select an area of specialization later on. There are several courses for this, such as the American Degree Programme.

The best way to do this is by researching the syllabus and curriculum of the programmes you’re interested in. You can refer to the university’s official website for information on the course requirement and modules or approach our friendly counsellors for additional information. They’ll be happy to help!

It is advisable to match the course content with your own interests and consider how it will impact your career path in the future. Chances are that that you’ll go on to pursue a career in a similar field of your studies, so researching the course content is important to ensure that you will be making the right choice for your future.

Think Of The Location

Ask yourself these questions: how far do you want to be from home during your studies? Would you be more comfortable living in a big city or in a small town where home is close by?

If you prefer to be close to home (and your mom’s delicious cooking) then it might be better for you to look for a university in your home town or somewhere nearby.

However, if you’re eager to leave home and spread your wings, then you can explore universities in a different state or even another country if you’re feeling adventurous enough. Studying abroad is a great choice if you want to gain a fresh perspective on the way people work, interact, and immerse themselves in the culture of different parts of the world. Read up on the further advantages on studying abroad here

Choose a university that provides a support system when you study abroad.

If you do choose to study abroad, you have to realize that you’ll be moving away from the comfort of your family and into an environment that is unfamiliar to you. This means you’ll need to brush up on life skills such as cooking, doing your own laundry, buying groceries, and performing your part of the house chores.

Consider The Costs & Budget

Finances are something every student should consider when choosing a university. You’ll be spending on food, entertainment, accommodation, public transport, textbooks, and printing resources, so it’s important consider these factors and how they fit into your budget.

Some universities offer financial aid packages for students who want to study abroad, so do check with the university counsellor if you are eligible for those. However, if you decide to study in a local university nearby, you are likely to spend less money and can save for future expenses.

Ultimately, it depends on the kind of environment you want to study in and the leeway of your budget. Taking these costs into account and considering how they fit into your budget is an important factor to help you choose a university.

Check University Rankings

While university rankings are not completely accurate, they are a good indicator of the institution’s reputation and quality of programmes they offer.

For example, did you know that Taylor’s University’s Hospitality & Leisure Management subject held a position in the Top 20 of QS World University Rankings by Subject in 2020? It was this achievement that led the university to make a name for itself as the only institution in Malaysia with a Top 20 rank in the QS Subject category.

Thus, when doing your research, look at the overall ranking of the university, but be sure to check how well-rounded their courses are. Aside from Academic Reputation, here are some important factors that you should consider:

  • Employer Reputation
  • Campus Environment
  • Degree Accreditation
  • Industry Partnerships
  • Faculty/Student Ratio

Depending on what is important to you, you can check the ranking tables to get an estimate of the quality of the aspect of the university you are interested in.

For example, some students may prioritize the availability of Scholarships & Financial Aid as their main incentive, while others may prefer to look at the Faculty/Student Ratio for a more personalized teaching environment.

Look Up Active Clubs & Societies

Aside from academics, you want to be choosing a university that supports a healthy social life. One way to evaluate this is to check the active clubs and societies that are organizing current events. You can tell the quality of a student’s educational experience by just checking the number of clubs and societies that are running and actively participating in events.

Clubs and societies are a big part of the university’s community, so you should pick one that you will enjoy being a part of.  If you love basketball, check out the basketball team! If you’re a huge movie fanatic, keep an eye out for the film club. Most university campuses have a specific vibe that caters to the majority of students, so pick an atmosphere that will be a good fit for your personality!

Most universities list their clubs and societies on the official website or promotional brochures, so you can get an idea of the campus life there. After all, university isn’t just about studying, but enjoying your student experience as a whole!

Choosing a university isn’t too complicated when you have a clear objective in mind. Consider your priorities, focus on the goal, and enjoy your journey. As university life only happens once, be sure to make the most out of it while you can!

University can be one of the best experiences in your life as a college student. Find out some of the best ways to enjoy it here

So You Want To Be A Civil Engineer In Malaysia? Here’s How.

So You Want To Be A Civil Engineer In Malaysia? Here's How.

So, I heard that you want to be a civil engineer in Malaysia?

civil engineers working in Malaysia

As one of the main branches of engineering, civil engineering deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of all built environments. This includes public infrastructure like bridges, tunnels, highways, railroads, airports, and many more.

Famous structures in Malaysia that were born form the work of talented civil engineers are the well-known Penang Bridge, tourist attraction KLCC Twin Tower, and Masjid Jamek Mosque. Civil engineers often work with architects onsite to test the stability of the soil and foundation of the building before laying out a plan based on the budget and requirements of the project. They also have to consider safety procedures and the potential risks of the project on the environment.

As a civil engineer, you get to work both indoors and outdoors. Your work contributes to the improvement of society by building amenities and facilities that the public use every day. Thus, a civil engineer in Malaysia is highly regarded as they play an important role in building luxury residences and skyscrapers for the advancement of the nation.

Civil engineers often deal with problems in a practical, hands-on approach and need to have solid decision-making skills. If you like finding solutions to a problem and brainstorming ways to improve a system, then civil engineering can be for you.

What are the skills required to be a Civil Engineer?

To be a successful civil engineer, you need to learn certain skills that can help you grow into your role. When you first start out in the job market, don’t expect to be a civil engineer right away as it takes a lot of industry knowledge and experience to be a good one. Hence, you can start by brushing up your technical knowledge of the industry.

As a fresh graduate, you can start by taking on entry-level positions, such as Assistant Engineer or Junior Site Engineer. Your duties will include drafting blueprints, taking note of building sites, mapping the layout, and assessing individual costs of the project.

A civil engineer requires an in-depth understanding of engineering fundamentals and various technology to implement it in the process of planning, designing, and construction. You also need to know how to use design software, such as AutoCAD, in order to test the model’s functionality.

As you move up to take on bigger projects, you’ll need to know how to use certain tools and equipment during construction, such as bulldozers, tankers, and conveyors. This is important in order to ensure that no one gets hurt when the machines are being used.

Civil engineers also need to have good organizational skills to manage the team and plan around the project’s allocated budget and strict deadline. To do this, you need to be a good teamplayer to understand and allocate individual tasks, communicate with clear intention, and supervise the overall project to adhere to the deadline

Other responsibilities of a civil engineer include performing risk management around the area, communicating with architects and clients, solving developmental problems, and ensuring that construction is in line with safety standards as well as visiting the site from time to time.

How can I be a Professional Civil Engineer in Malaysia?

To practice as a civil engineer in Malaysia, you must have at least an Engineering degree in Civil Engineering or a similar qualification in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. The qualification must be recognized by the Engineering Accreditation Department, Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)

The applicant also has to be registered as a graduate engineer with BEM if they wish to be employed in Malaysia. The required qualifications to register as a Graduate Engineer are:

  • An Engineering Degree awarded by Malaysia
  • An Engineering Degree awarded by other countries
  • Graduates with an Engineering Technology Degree

You can read up on the full registration procedure here

Once graduate engineers have fulfilled 3 years of employment, they are eligible to apply as a Professional Engineer. They will follow a route that requires them to complete a Professional Assessment Examination, which involves the following requirements:

  • 2 years of general training for professional development
  • 1 year of professional and career training for exposure to engineering practice
  • 1 year of training in Malaysia under the supervision of a Professional Engineer in the same branch of engineering as the graduate
  • Has successfully passed a Professional Assessment Examination conducted by the Board

You can view the full requirements here

The starting salary for a civil engineer in Malaysia ranges between RM2,800 to RM3,200. However, this number can go up based on the years of experience you have as an engineer. Civil engineers with 2 – 5 years of experience can have a potential 42% of increase in their monthly salary, whereas an engineer with 5 – 10 years of experience can have a 31% increase.

The working hours of a civil engineer depends on the lifecycle of the project and volume of responsibilities they carry. A typical working day for a civil engineer is between 8 to 10 hours, but it can reach up to 12 hours for an entire week if they have to work overtime!

Still deliberating about a career as a civil engineer in Malaysia?  Here’s a quote to wrap up your thoughts with!

“Go for civil engineering, because civil engineering is the branch of engineering which teaches you the most about managing people. Managing people is a skill which is very, very useful and applies almost regardless of what you do.”
