UOW Malaysia KDU is part of the University of Wollongong Australia. In 2018, KDU Malaysia entered into a partnership with UOW Global Enterprises and changed the name of the university to reflect its connection with the University of Wollongong Australia’s global network.

UOW has several branches. The UOW KDU Penang campus is located at Jalan Anson, whilst the second branch at Batu Kawan. Lastly, its newly moved flagship campus at Utropolis, Glenmarie.
The university is a tobacco smoke-free campus with a 16.3 green footprint. Equipped with naturally-ventilated courtyards and fitted with energy-efficient centralised chilled water air-conditioning, the campus takes the effort to maintain its Green Building Index (GBI) certification through an Advanced Building Management System with energy-efficient light fittings, demand-controlled ventilation, rain-water harvesting system, and more.
Student accommodation is provided on campus at its flagship campus at Utropolis, Glenmarie. The student accommodation has 7 levels that can accommodate 612 students and covers both male and female wings. There is a convenience store on campus as well. The diverse community on campus grounds encourages a vibrant student life and allows interaction between different cultures from various parts of the world.
