Founded in 1839, the impressive buildings of the University of Chester are among the country’s first professional training sites for teachers. Throughout the years, the university has witnessed the numbers of students and teachers flourish as higher education became gradually significant. With more than 20 different self-catered residences and private properties around the university, students can choose an ideal accommodation that fits their budget and requirements with ease.

Listed among eight British Heritage cities, Chester is a hot spot for tourists and youths alike. Located close to beautiful neighboring cities like Manchester, Liverpool, London, and the not-to-miss Welsh coast and mountains, Chester offers an array of attractions that alleviates the overseas experience of international students studying in the university.


Students can choose their accommodation depending on the location of the campus that offers their course.


Full-time international students that submit their accommodation application forms by the deadline for the September intake will be guaranteed with accommodation. Common hostel facilities include 24/7 security, free Wi-Fi , utility bills, maintenance, cleaning and insurance.

  • Shared kitchen fully equipped with fridges, freezers, microwaves and kettles
  • For students who prefer cooking their own meals

2) Semi-catered Residence

  • Meals are provided from Monday to Friday(excluding breakfast)
  • Shared small kitchen
  • For students who prefer the flexibility of cooking their weekend meals

3) Full-board Residence

  • Full meals are provided 7 days a week
  • For students who prefer dining at campus dining facilities

4) Private Sector Properties
