About Campus

The International Islamic University Malaysia is one of the top public universities in Malaysia. It was the manifestation of major aspirations of Muslim scholars, which was to have a Muslim university in Malaysia that would lead in all Muslim branches of knowledge.

 

True to that promise, IIUM integrates Islamic values into its curriculum and perspective that benefits the university slogan ‘The Garden of Virtue and Knowledge’. This is also reflected in their philosophy as they aspire to acquire knowledge and create education that will improve the quality of life for all mankind. Students from more than 100 nations come from IIUM, representing almost all regions worldwide.​

 

​IIUM is employs accomplished scholars for its educational faculty and its administrative departments by committed and dedicated professionals around the world. They also have facilities that are up to date with the changing requirements of the core field of the university, such as teaching and learning, as well as research and consultancy, through generous support from the Malaysian Government.​

Campus Information

IIUM has numerous campuses, facilities, and institutions spread across many states of Malaysia, each with its specializations and objectives.​

 

​The main IIUM campus is nestled in a valley in the rustic Gombak district, a suburb of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.​ It houses the university administration as well as Faculties, Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development.

 

Other campuses are located at Kuantan, Gambang, Kuala Lumpur, and Pagoh. The Kuala Lumpur campus at Persiaran Duta houses the International Institute of Islamic Civilization and Malay World (ISTAC) whereas the centre for Foundation Studies is located in Kuantan and Gambang.

 

Accommodation

IIUM provides 80% of its full-time undergraduate students with housing. For postgraduate students, accommodation is available based on room availability. ​

 

​Single Room:

  • Made specifically for postgraduate students who prefer more privacy. ​
  • Undergraduate students may also apply depending on the availability. ​
  • The rental rate for IIUM students is RM 7.00/day/person​

​

4 person-sharing Room:

  • The unit is compartmentalized and each student can enjoy their own private space even though they share one common door.
  • A single bed, study table, and chair, cupboard, bookshelf, or bookrack are included in each private space. ​
  • The rental rate for IIUM students is RM 3.50/day/person​
