Since 1821, Heriot-Watt has established a consistent track record of training, empowering and challenging the professionals of tomorrow. The university’s purpose-built campus opened in Putrajaya in September 2014 with €35 million invested in Malaysian campus, known as the country’s first ‘green campus.’

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia aims to build outstanding students alongside the UK and Dubai campuses. Presently, Heriot-Watt ranks in the top 30 universities in the UK based on the 2018 Guardian University League Table. With more than 28,500 students studying around the world, the University is one of the top 15 students in the UK for the foreign student mix in the QS World University Rankings 2017/18.


Campus Information

Heriot-Watt University campus in Malaysia is settled on a 4.8-acre lakeside site within walking distance of the Putrajaya marina and its new recreational and sports facilities. ​​As part of the “Green Continuum” of Putrajaya Lake, the campus highlights a panoramic stretch of living grass on the roof, powered by the natural sunshine, a rainwater collection system, and integrated air conditioning with a breathtaking view.

The university introduced a Positive Education approach in 2017 as a commitment to empower and produce future-ready graduates who will go on to make a difference in the world. Positive Education focuses not only on academic excellence but also on the holistic development of students to nurture purposeful, driven, resilient and professional individuals.

Comprising of EmPOWER and Youth Transformation Programme, the programme benefits students to build a successful mindset, creativity, innovation, emotional intelligence, and career planning for the future.


Accommodation

​Heriot-Watt University manages its very own accommodation for students, Kanvas SOHO. They also partner with a third party accommodation provider, such as Ikhasas Group for Shaftsbury and RYO for additional students’ accommodation.​

 

​A complimentary shuttle bus operates between the student residences and the campus with easy access to public transportation.​

 

​Shaftsbury ​

The home provides a cozy and contemporary home interior with a spacious living area of 686 square feet. Every unit is completely fitted with wifi, a kitchenette, a microwave, a refrigerator, air conditioning and a 43 “LED TV. A moderately-priced living space for students, they can enjoy easy access to nearby facilities such as the supermarket, cleaning services, bus terminal, food joints and much more. These are all within a 5-10 minute short walk.​
