Education and Childcare Pre-T Level Transition Programme

This programme has been developed to focus on the development of technical and soft skills to allow for progression to study at Level 3, either through a T Level or an Apprenticeship. Students will complete technical modules, PSD development and a work placement. The programme is made up of the following elements: Diagnostic Period Level 2 Certificate in Working with Children in Early Years and Primary Settings, which includes: Child development from birth to 11 years 11 months Play and learning Exploring Legislation The role of the childcare practitioner Nutrition Physical development and physical activity Students will also study a Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid. In addition to the two programmes outlined above, students would also complete the following components in their study programme, and these will help them ensure they have the necessary skills and experience to successfully transfer onto the T Level course in Education and Childcare.
